Preserving History Since 1923

The Historical Society of Perry County serves as the steward of eleven historic properties ranging in age from the 1790 Clark’s Tavern to the 1884 Dromgold House and Farm in Shermansdale. All told we maintain two taverns, (one a museum), two covered bridges, two churches, two historic mansions, a school house, a grist mill and a farmstead. We also operate and maintain a museum of Perry County History at Blue Ball Tavern within Little Buffalo State Park, as well as a large collection of artifacts and manuscripts which document and highlight Perry County’s rich history. If you have a love of Perry County history or just want to learn more about our history, we cordially invite you to tour our properties, visit our museum and help us preserve our collective history.
